Andy Lochery

BDS U. Dundee GDC 53014

Qualifying as President of Dundee Dental Students Society in 1979 I spent my first year as a dentist in an NHS practice in Dundee.

I decided to further my education and career, working at Bristol Dental Hospital and then in the Maxillo-Facial unit at Kettering General Hospital.

I decided to work in general practice and became a partner in a internationally known preventive practice in Cambridgeshire. I spent a very happy 35 years there.

Strangely I felt the time had come for a change. I happened to be in Great Eccleston for a weekend break. We drove into the Square – pre-Covid and I thought what a lovely, busy market place this is.

And since then I’ve spent a very happy 2 years here – long may it last.

David Walsh

David qualified from The University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2016 and whilst undertaking his dental training was part of the team that helped create and organise the first British Undergraduate Dental Research Society Conference in spring 2015, where over 200 students from 10 dental schools attended. After graduating, he spent his Dental Foundation training year in Sheffield before returning to the area to practice in Lancaster through the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has a very keen interest in patient management and helping those with dental anxieties. David’s caring and professional attitude to dental practice leaves those who have been in his surgery feeling relaxed and confident in their care.
